APRIL 14

Lustrous Element
This rare, alien metal doesn't exist on Hocotate. When I gaze at it, I'm gripped with an overpowering sense of greed. On Hocotate, there is a valuable metal with a stunning sheen that has a similar effect. Perhaps this alluring metal is responsible for many of this planet's woes.
Money is indeed a source of a lot of our world's problems. In this day and age, everyone needs money. When we get some, we get greedy and begin to want more and more. We pretend that it's a source of happiness when in reality it is nothing but a substitute to real happiness.

Behind all the materialistic happiness that money brings is a world that is being destroyed by money itself. When people get greedy enough to want more money, they begin to do anything to get their hands on it. People lie, argue, fight, steal and betray others over it. Some of the more extreme cases have murder involved. So much evil is brought to this world because of money that it's hard to say such a thing brings happiness. Perhaps the worst news is that it's now unavoidable.

Mirrored Element
Talking to the boss makes me crave the power to order people around. He just sits on his haunch all day, barking out wildly irrational requests. Arrgg... When will it be my turn to be the boss?
We can all complain about someone's superior privileges and authority, like Olimar's problem with his boss shouting orders... But if ever we get the chance to have such privileges, such authority, would we end up doing the same? Would we be hypocrites and start doing what we loathed when we didn't have such power?

Power's a dangerous thing. It could make us do things of which we wouldn't have approved when we didn't have it. It could make us arrogant, lazy, and even hated. Only people with the purest of hearts could overcome the negative desire that power brings, and make use of it to better the world.
