The series will finally go online with the release of the DS version later this year. Using a wireless online connection, players all over the world will be competing in single races and tournaments in both racing and battle modes. Your favourite Mario Kart cast of Mario, Peach, Bowser, Toad, and more, return in the fifth game in the series (excluding the recently-announced arcade incarnation). Mario Kart DS will feature over 30 courses; some new, and some from all four of its predecessors, which ranges from games on the SNES to the GameCube. In addition to these courses will be the classic battle mode, which wasn't ready to be shown at E3 this year. This time around, however, players will be able to choose either to battle with people or go solo... Battle mode is no longer multiplayer-only.
